David, the creator of Our Whispering Heart, says “when I leave this world I plan to be empty. Empty that is, of all that I can give. If I haven’t shared all that I am, what value is it?”
Many years ago, David was initiated into the Himalayan Yoga Tradition by Swami Veda Bharati. Within this lineage came exhaustive studies of Hatha Yoga, Jnana Yoga, Raja Yoga, and Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras. Something was missing, however, and it was Bhakti Yoga, a loving devotion towards a personal god.
While Executive Director of The Meditation Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota, he believed there was a way to share the wisdom of the Himalayan Yoga Tradition while using words and methods comfortable and attractive to our time and culture. Working with Dr. George Mann, he began listening to recovered alcoholics and addicts explain how spiritual fitness combined with prayer and meditation are cornerstones to the maintenance of their sobriety. Little did David know the seed was planted in fertile soil; fait accompli.
Today, David maintains his spiritual fitness by working the 12-steps of AA, being of service, and encouraging addicts, alcoholics, and affected family members recovery from a seemingly hopeless state of mind and body. Practicing spiritual principles, opening to a personal and loving God, plus daily prayer and meditation form the foundation for a way of life compatible with everyone and everything.
David offers himself as a conduit for grace, guiding centering prayer meditations. He encourages us to PAUSE, to let go of the intellect, to let go of time, and to place our awareness within Our Whispering Heart.
“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.” ~ Matthew 7:7
